Color Mastery Event was a huge success!

Color Mastery author comes to Sew Bee It.

Thanks so much to all of you who came out to Maria Peagler's Color Mastery book signing! What an overwhelming response! We had 71 ladies to attend this fun event. I would say that most, if not all, of us learned something new.

Susie's Color Mastery Quilt

I know I did! Here is the quilt sample I, Susie, made from the first project in Maria's book. It is using an analagous color harmony. Maria explained each of the projects in the book and let us see her samples and then talked about other things such as how to spot the latest color trends, and how to challenge yourself to think beyond what you would typically choose to add variety to our stash and our quilts.

It is always fun to hear from a guest speaker and fellowship with one another over beautiful fabric and delicious sweets! We are looking forward to planning more special events like this one. If you weren't able to attend, take a look at the Color Mastery website and learn more about Maria and her fantastic new quilting book!

Color Mastery Book Tour

colormasterybook

We are so excited to announce that Sew Bee It is going to be hosting author of Color Mastery, Maria Peagler, at our shop next Thursday, April 30 at 6:30pm as part of her Georgia Book Tour. Maria will be sharing how you can master the color in your quilts and where to spot the best color trends. Color Mastery takes a unique approach never before seen in a quilting book. Maria has taken artistic principles and coupled them with simple quilts, for gorgeous projects any quilter can make. With Color Mastery, you can take ordinary fabrics already in your stash and turn them into simple quilts with sophisticated color relationships. You will be able to overcome your frustration and fear of color combinations in your quilts. She will also be signing copies of her book for you! We would love for you to call ahead and reserve your copy of Color Mastery so we will have enough on hand.

Take a look at the Color Mastery website and learn more about Maria and her fantastic new quilting book! No matter what your level of quilting experience, this promises to be an event you don't want to miss!

This is a free event! Invite your best quilting friends and let's make it a party!

Show and Share from our Customers!

We have such amazing customers! With sewing becoming more popular with the younger generation (Yay!), we have seen a huge resurgence of young moms sewing for their children. I know that I (Susie), personally, loved to sew for my children when they were still small enough to want the clothes I would make for them! Now that they are older, I am enjoying sewing for my friends' little girls and teaching others to do the same.

Terri and Amanda are two such moms who love making beautiful outfits for their girls!

Alayna's Claire Dress

Terri made this gorgeous dress and matching ruffle pants for Alayna using fabric from our shop and Sandi Henderson's Portabello Pixie Pattern, Claire. She is adorable, Terri!

Sydney's Apron

Amanda made this vintage-style apron for Sydney from our Quiltworks Delilah fabric! She is so sweet! Can't you see these on all the little girls in your life? If only they could stay this small!

Alayna :: 70's style

And, for fun, look at Alayna in her 70's retro outfit. She had 70's day at school and her mommy embellished her outfit with Anna Maria Horner's Good Folks fabric plus made her a matching head band. We think she looks groovy, baby!

We know that sewing for our children is another way we can tangibly show our love for them! You ladies keep up the terrific work!

And if any of you are interested in learning more about sewing children's clothing, give us a call or email! We would be happy to plan a class and add it to our new class schedule!
